Green Lake State Park outside of Utica, New York is a five star campground. It has two glacial lakes, products of the last ice age. As recently as 14,000 years ago, an ice sheet several thousand feet thick covered this area. The apparent color of the lake is due to a number of factors: light absorption, deep, clear water, and the presence of calcium carbonate. There are hikes, bike paths, disc golf, swimming, and a golf course here. So much to do and see.
