September 16th: Day 61

Todays goal before we leave Acadia- ride the carriage roads on our e-bikes. It was pretty smooth to drive to the visitor center, park and hop on the carriage road. It was a very special experience. It felt like being in the inner guts of the park. The views of the lakes was spectacular. Our goal was to reach Jordan’s Pond which was at the other end of the visitor center. It was a trek but went fairly quickly because we had the assist. The water at Jordons Pond was crystal clear; in fact it serves as drinking water for the local community. Very special. The other worthwhile part of the carriage roads were the old bridges.they are all unique and somewhat majestic. When we come back to this park we would return to the carriage roads and stop and explore and enjoy them more.

It was a bit of a let down to leave the park: there is still so much to see and do. However it was time- we have a bit of a hangover from all of the exercise we got everyday. Our next destination is Edgecomb Maine where Dan’s cousin, Susan, lives. We parked our RV in her backyard and then went out to dinner. A full day!
